Job Description:

 

As an Engineering Intern with an emphasis on training at TOPS Products, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both engineering projects and training program development. You will work closely with our technical staff to support in creating and delivering training materials for our employees. This internship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about manufacturing, industrial engineering and interested in developing their skills in training and education.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1. Collaborate with production supervisors, plant leadership, and continuous improvement engineers to assist development, documentation of standard operating procedures, and training programs.

2. Assist in the development of training materials, such as presentations, manuals, videos, and interactive modules, related to engineering processes, tools, and best practices.

3. Support the coordination and delivery of training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees, including scheduling, logistics, and participant communications.

4. Work with subject matter experts to gather training content and ensure accuracy and relevance to employee development needs.

5. Conduct evaluations and assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs and gather feedback from participants.

6. Assist in analyzing training data and metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and training impact on employee

performance.

 

Qualifications:

 

1. Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, etc.) or a technical-related field.

2. Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with a passion for engineering and learning.

3. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information in a clear and engaging manner.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with training authoring tools or Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.

5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

6. Eagerness to learn and contribute ideas to improve training programs and engineering processes.

7. Previous experience or coursework in engineering, training, education, or instructional design is beneficial but not required.
